About Me
I am a Chicago native and Northwestern Wildcat, having earned my undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Communications and Spanish. My professional career began in advertising media and transitioned to higher education after my college sweetheart proposed marriage and transported me to Columbus, Ohio.
I have always had a natural inclination toward career coaching and a desire to help people maximize their potential. My interest in training, staff development, employee motivation, and performance management led me to pursue my graduate degree in Human Resources at The Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business and add “Buckeye” to my list of designations. Working in the Graduate Programs Office as a graduate student ignited my passion for higher education as a career choice. Prior to launching my own consulting practice, I spent 15 years working in graduate business admissions for The Ohio State University, most recently as the Senior Director of Graduate Recruiting & Admissions.
I have been affiliated with numerous organizations, including the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC), The Forte′ Foundation, The National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals (NAGAP), The National Association of International Educators (NAFSA) and The Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). For two years I served on the advisory board of Liaison International’s BusinessCAS, a centralized application service for business schools. I currently serve on the inaugural Recruitment and Admission Advisory Board of the University of Dayton.
I am proud to hold the designation of Certified Educational Planner (CEP) as of June 2024, becoming only the sixth educational consultant in the state of Ohio to achieve this professional distinction. I am also a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), and a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), the Ohio Association for College Admissions Counseling (OACAC), and Ohio Association of Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA). I was awarded my certificate in Independent Educational Consulting certification in August 2020 through the UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education. As a part of my ongoing professional development, I completed the College Essay Experience Training through Wow Writing Workshop in February 2021. Most importantly, I am the proud mother of three beautiful children, an adorable Australian Labradoodle named Marvin, and a Cavapoo puppy named Toby.
